A sidebar form pattern places step progression and status indicators in a dedicated column adjacent to the active input surface. This structure offers distinct advantages:
- Spatial Orientation: Users continuously perceive where they are in a multi-step workflow without scrolling away.
- Progress Tracking: Step indicators toggle between completed (green checkmarks), active (emphasized outline and colored labels), and upcoming states.
- Responsive Layout: On wider displays, the sidebar pins to the left while keeping the active form centered. On mobile screens, the steps gracefully stack above the active inputs.
